This week has brought in noticeable updates to popular software. A small heads up

1. Pidin IM – Bugfix Version 2.5.4 released.

2. Transmission BT – The popular and lightweight bittorrent client for mac and linux is offering a beta 1 version for its upcoming release 1.50

3. KDE 4.2 RC – The much awaited improvement to the next generation GUI system for linux is one step closer to perfection with the release candidate of version 4.2. Offers lot of stability and compatibility updates, and must have if you tried the beta release.

Edit : Transmission 1.50 beta 2 is out. I’ve put up a package for Ubuntu 8.10. Get it here
